Dare I say... some of the best Mexican food I've had in Scottsdale (specifically) so far? It's a little pricy but in my opinion worth it. The menu now is also much smaller than menus posted in the photos here previously but there's plenty to choose from. We missed the happy hour window but I hope to make it back for it because it seemed like a good one. The staff was friendly and attentive for it being busy. It's not pictured because we devoured it but the QUESO dip... absolutely must try it!!
I guess it was bound to happen. After the relocation things change. I miss the La Fonda staff that has taken care of us for so many years. The food seems the same to me even though the menu has been simplified. We had our regular items Ala carte. All good.
La Fonda del Sol is one of our all time favorite Mexican spots! The food is phenomenal!!! I am partial to Menudo . They serve it everyday. From the salsas to the fresh warm chips to every menu item we and our guests have tried we have always been beyond satisfied. They have a fully stocked bar & wine selection too. La Fonda Del Sol is the only truly authentic Mexican restaurant I've been to in Scottsdale. I've been to their old location prior, their new location is noticeably bigger. Good for them because it was poppin on Saturday night. I ordered the beef enchiladas- Christmas style - red and green sauce. It was incredibly delicious but I must admit, super heavy. The plate came out super hot, and everything on the plate seemed to melt together and the flavors exploded. Make sure you come to La Fonda Del Sol with an empty stomach.
